Black T Stage Systems are manufactured exclusively from stage-grade birch plywood sourced from responsibly managed and sustainably governed forests that are FSC and PEFC certified and comply with the requirements of the EU Timber Regulation, ensuring full traceability and responsible sourcing throughout the supply chain.

Our stage-grade birch plywood is fully recyclable and incorporates a bio-based adhesive technology, replacing fossil-derived phenol with renewable lignin. This significantly reduces the product’s carbon footprint and VOC emissions while maintaining the same high levels of strength, durability, and performance.

By substituting fossil-based materials with natural, renewable binders, we deliver a more sustainable solution without compromising the technical properties of the plywood. In fact, stage-grade birch plywood has superior mechanical properties in elasticity, bonding and bending.

Black T stage-grade birch plywood is BREEAM and LEED compliant.

From first concept to lasting performance.

Black T partners with principal contractors, architects, theatre consultants and venue operators across the government, commercial and education sectors. Together we design, build and refurbish high-performance stage flooring systems.

Our specialist stage construction teams work collaboratively, from concept through to completion.

  • Concept and requirements development. We work with clients and design teams from the earliest stages, defining the operational, technical, acoustic and performance requirements.
  • Detailed design and engineering. We produce full CAD stage designs, structural build-ups and load-path analysis, integrated with lifts, traps, orchestra pits, automation, HVAC and fire strategies.
  • Technical documentation. We deliver fabrication drawings, installation details, interface tolerances, finishing schedules, and maintenance documentation to ensure accurate manufacture and installation.
  • International coordination. We work closely with architects, structural engineers, theatre consultants, lift suppliers and contractors throughout the project.
  • Installation supervision and commissioning. We provide on-site inspection, substrate verification, installation guidance, commissioning support and final sign-off.
